One girl's fairytale ending, another girl's (or boy's) nightmare

Perception and interpretation can be deceiving. Things said by someone to mean A could be interpreted by someone else to mean B. If A and B are innocent things like green apples or red apples, it is still fine. But if A and B means Love and Die respectively, then you have a problem.

Picture this; you have an elder brother who is rich but stingy. You were complaining to your BFF (let's call her Bess) about how your brother never buys you gifts or even treat you to a fancy dinner or even normal lunch. Then Bess jokingly said, "Maybe I should marry him and we can spend his money".

And you jokingly replied, "Before that, I'm going to kill you for your money".

Then as time goes by, people moved on; but still you were both BFF. Bess didn't marry your brother, but married someone else who is quite rich himself. You too were happily married with someone who is quite rich but not as rich as Bess' husband, still you were happy. Bess had a child but you don't, you were still trying so life was still okay for you. Besides you were busying yourself with writing a book to get it published. You were content.

Then, the economy was doing very badly, your husband lost his business, you lost your book deal. Time was hard for you. But still you weren't all that bad, since when both you and your husband was making money, you were sensible and safe aside for rainy days. You were still okay and not too worried.

Bess on the other hand, got richer since her husband invested in low-cost housing estate; obviously in an economic downturn, things that are cheaper is highly demanded. They were happy of course and were trying to share some with you; you of course do not want to take charity. So both decided that you would be getting paid for taking care of Bess child while they were busy making money.

It was all okay, but then one day an accident occurred. Bess child died while in your care. Bess and her husband were so sad and angry. They decided to bring the matter to court and charge you for murder. And during the sessions, one of the issues they brought forward was how you were always jealous of her good fortune. Sine they have more money than you and they have a child and you don't. You hated them.

And Bess even quote in court how you actually said "I'm going to kill you for your money", in the past. Obviously under oath, when the lawyer asked you have you ever said that in the past you have to say YES. But that is just it; the same things said in a different context could be interpreted so differently.

It was not a fair trial!!

Lesson of the story is, we have to be careful when quoting someone. It is not fair to be quoting out of context. It's dangerous and it can definitely ruin lives. And to do it purposely to feel/seem/be victimised by that other person - that is evil (and most of the time selfish). But then again, most of us do that to defend ourselves. Of course we should be careful and remind ourselves to be HONEST and TRUE to ourselves.

And the coin will always have two different faces (unless it's the clowns' or magician's coin). So when we see a different version of a story, there will always be another version that could be the total opposite version of the same story. When we want to pass judgement to anyone remember, have you seen both sides of the coin? Or are we only listening to the Queen side (of the coin)? Always try and be fair and see both sides before we pass any judgements.

Seriously, it is a fiction. Just hate it when people quote out of context. Dangerous.
